One Vendor. All Materials. Faster Fulfillment at Lower Cost.

CHALLENGE

A motor repair shop was sourcing materials from multiple vendors, piecing together orders for every repair job by flipping through their rolodex. Their purchasing agent often had to call 2–4 suppliers to get all the items needed for a single job. The result? Wasted time, fractured communication, and fragmented shipping costs.

While each vendor was reliable, supplying items like bearings, sleeves, tapes, and insulation, there was no awareness that these materials could be consolidated. The customer had worked with EIS in the past, but hadn’t considered us a one-stop supplier for their full range of repair needs.

SOLUTION

An EIS sales representative stepped in to streamline the process by reintroducing the customer to our full product offering. We demonstrated that we could supply all 24 items included in their repair materials inquiry, including tape, flexible insulation, bearings, repair sleeves, locknuts and washers, red insulating paint, and even a sight glass for a US motor. This highlighted our ability to meet a wide range of needs with in-stock solutions, even as requirements vary from job to job.

By consolidating everything through EIS, the customer could manage a single PO, simplify supplier communication, and qualify for our prepaid freight policy, eliminating additional shipping costs previously incurring across multiple vendors. What began as a procurement adjustment became a total supply chain upgrade.

RESULT

With one order, one invoice, and one point of contact, the customer experienced a significant shift in efficiency. Procurement complexity was dramatically reduced, order processing became faster, and delays caused by managing multiple vendors were eliminated.

In addition to the material savings, the customer benefited from EIS’s prepaid freight policy, which cut out additional shipping costs that had previously flown under the radar.

With less time spent chasing down parts, the purchasing agent’s productivity increased—and so did confidence in EIS. We’re now their first call for repair materials, and when something isn’t available, only then do they turn to other vendors. The partnership has reshaped their procurement process for the better.

This experience demonstrates how EIS helps customers streamline procurement by consolidating vendors, cutting costs, and ensuring material availability all in one place.
