Fiber wedges are rigid and snap easily after being inserted into the slot. A chemically pure, cellulose material that contains no resins or bonding agents. Has an extremely high internal bond strength. - It will not delaminate and is very resistant to electric tracking, oils, gasolines and most solvents. It's heat resistance is superior to unconverted cellulose insulations.

- Vulcanized fiber comes in sheets, rolls, rods and tubes, it can also be cut into strips and slit into coils
- Electrical vulcanized fiber is sometimes referred to as "Fish Paper", although there's nothing fishy about it
