Nomex® laminates type NKN is triplex laminates constructed of calendered Nomex® paper bonded to Kapton® polyimide film with a proprietary high temperature adhesive system. Nomex® Laminates type NKN is triplex laminates constructed of calendered Nomex® paper bonded to Kapton® polyimide film with a proprietary high temperature adhesive system. These laminates are designed not to delaminate or blister at high temperatures. The calendered Nomex® paper provides long-term thermal stability, as well as improved propagation tear strengths.
Applications
- Ideal for Use as Slot, Phase, Turn-To-Turn, Liner, and Barrier Insulation in Rotating Motors and Other Machines
- Transformer and Inductor Windings
- Very Popular in Motor and Other Electrical Applications
Features
- The KAPTON® polyimide film in these 2- and 3-ply laminates contributes high dielectric strength, as well as good initial tear strength and tensile properties
- High heat resistance
- Thermal endurance and Class H categorization
- Availability in narrow widths
- These laminates are designed not to delaminate or blister at high temperatures
- Good initial tear strength and tensile properties
- Nomex-Kapton laminates in two-ply or three-ply consist of Nomex aramid paper laminated to Kapton polyimide film
