EIS & Fabrico Donate Face Shields to Help Combat COVID-19

Atlanta, GA— April 7, 2020

Today EIS and its Fabrico Division, in collaboration with Siemens Corporation, announce a donation of 5,000 face shields to Georgia Tech and the Georgia Council of Medical Innovations. Georgia Tech GCMI is working with the Georgia Emergency Management Agency to distribute face shields to local healthcare and medical professionals to combat COVID-19. “We are proud to contribute our small part in supporting the front lines fighting the COVID-19 crisis,” said Ron Harris, CCO & SVP, EIS.

Assistance in a critical time

In response to the COVID-19 global health pandemic, Georgia Tech made a public request for the fabrication and manufacture of face shields. EIS and Fabrico, a leader in designing, prototyping, and manufacturing the engineered conversion of flexible materials, were approached by Siemens Corporation to begin production of face shields and other components for assembly in their Kennesaw manufacturing facility. Those shields are being separated and assembled into frames by Siemens Corporation and then sent to Georgia Tech’s Rapid Response team for distribution to the medical field in collaboration with the Georgia Department of Public Health and GEMA.

EIS and Fabrico will continue to provide an additional inventory of face shields in the coming weeks. Strategies are in development to provide additional personal protective equipment (PPE) for healthcare staff, and these new inventory channels are important in light of current limited resources.

Mobilizing to fight COVID-19

EIS and Fabrico provide essential services in the nature of distribution of electrical products for critical infrastructure, and fabrication of components for critical infrastructure including medical, utilities, and agriculture. Their locations continue production and distribution during these unprecedented times, and Fabrico’s highly skilled engineering team has been deployed to prioritize all requests and meet demands.
