FINISHED INSULATION PRODUCTS

Our finished products are fabricated from a wide variety of tapes, films, papers, and laminates supplied by market leaders such as DuPont™, 3M™, Permacel®, and VonRoll®. Products are provided to customers in various forms, including sheets, slit rolls, traverse-wound spools, and fabricated parts.

CORE INSULATION

The primary insulating material between transformer coils and the magnetic steel, core insulation is made of relatively thick insulating films, papers, or laminates. EIS Fabrication Solutions slits these materials to specified dimensions and can also provide product in sheet form.

LEAD PADS

Made of pressure-sensitive tapes, flexible films, papers, and laminates, these pads serve as additional electrical insulation for the lead and tap connections. EIS Fabrication Solutions provides material for lead pads as sheets, slit rolls, and fabricated parts.

LAYER INSULATION

This insulation is placed between individual conductor windings in transformers. EIS Fabrication Solutions provides slit rolls in specific lengths and sheets from many different flexible insulating films, papers, and laminates.

BARRIER INSULATION

The primary insulating material between high- and low-voltage coils, barrier insulation is made of various f lexible films, papers, and laminates. EIS Fabrication Solutions converts these materials into sheets, slit rolls, and fabricated parts.

MAGNET WIRE INSULATION

Paper wrapped magnet wire conductor is used in certain types of transformers. EIS Fabrication Solutions provides slit rolls of various insulating papers in traverse-wound spools suitable for wire wrapping equipment.

PRESSURE-SENSITIVE TAPES

In transformer manufacturing, these tapes are used to hold components in place during the manufacturing process, as well as to provide additional electrical insulation. EIS Fabrication Solutions slits a wide variety of pressure-sensitive tapes to customer-specified widths and also provides custom diepunched parts for discreet applications.

EIS offers a variety of other transformer components, including:

MAGNET WIRE →

Copper or aluminum wire that makes up the transformer coil. The choice of magnet wire and lead wire depends on a number of factors, including the necessary dielectric strength and temperature resistance, the transformer’s environment, and the size needed to carry the amount of electrical current required by the application. EIS sells a full line of magnet wire in all insulations, shapes, and sizes.

LEAD WIRE →

Insulated flexible conductors used to connect transformers to their power source or output destination. Also known as hookup wire, EIS supplies UL-rated lead wire in a wide variety of sizes, constructions, and insulations. Bulk lead wire is available in standard packaging. Custom packaging, lead wire sets, and kitting are all available through EIS Fabrication Solutions.

ELECTRICAL SLEEVING AND TUBING →

Provides insulation for electrical connections and additional protection to critical areas where conductors can experience mechanical or electrical stress. EIS offers a full line of electrical sleeving and tubing from industry leading manufacturers in bulk packaging and cut-tolength pieces.

RESINS AND VARNISHES →

Used to coat and impregnate the transformer steel and coil assemblies. Provides a rigid coil construction and adds additional electrical and environmental protection to the coils and steel laminations. EIS supplies varnishes and resins from all major US manufacturers for every type of coating, impregnating, and curing requirement.

A wide range of additional products for transformer applications is available through EIS and our portfolio of brands.
