Lubricating
Anti-Seize
Loctite® anti-seize products provide protection against rust, corrosion, seizing and galling, as well as lubrication. Anti-seize lubricants are typically the products of choice for high temperature applications because of their unique ability to provide protection in extreme temperature conditions. Each product contains a combination of solid lubricating agents resulting in different high temperature limits and lubricities. These are the two major factors in choosing the right anti-seize product for your application.
Available “Metal-Free” products utilize non- metallic fillers to achieve the high temperature resistance properties as well as the lubricity. These fillers typically provide a much higher temperature resistance than that of the metallic fillers and due to the less abrasive nature of these fillers, they also typically provide lower K-values, resulting in higher lubricity.
Lubricants
Loctite® lubricants offer superior protection for industrial equipment. When choosing a lubricant, it is important to consider the intended application as well as the environment of the application. The typical function of a lubricant is to protect against friction and wear; however, in an industrial environment, there are other factors working against the product, including high temperature, harsh chemicals, and contaminants. Lubricants are also used to protect against corrosion by displacing moisture and leaving a film on the part.
Why choose a synthetic lubricant?
• Improved high temperature performance
• Higher lubricity
• Superior water-washout properties
• Higher purity
Machining Compounds (Abrading)
Loctite® Clover® machining compounds (abrading compounds) are abrasive pastes designed especially for the cutting, smoothing and finishing of metal surfaces. They are silicon carbide filled and are used as a supplemental process to grinding, milling, boring, and EDM machining on high or low tensile strength materials, including forged or hardened gears. These compounds produce an ultra-flat surface but not a polished one.
Potting & Encapsulating
Epoxies & Polyurethanes
There are a variety of Loctite® potting and encapsulating compounds to choose from – epoxy, hot melt, polyurethane, and silicone. Loctite® potting and encapsulating compounds are designed to protect electrical components from the effects of exposure to chemicals, moisture, thermal shock, mechanical shock, and vibration. Sealing components with Loctite® potting and encapsulating compounds prevents corrosion and ensures long-term integrity of electrical devices.
Hot Melt Adhesives
In addition to structural bonding, Loctite® Hysol® hot melt adhesives are also well suited for fast, deep potting applications requiring large gap fills in a high speed manufacturing environment.
Silicone Potting Compounds
Loctite® silicones are single component, tough, protective potting and encapsulating compounds that seal components against moisture, solvents, and environmental conditions. Loctite® Nuva- Sil® products cure in as little as 30 seconds to depths of 0.150" when exposed to UV light or visible light, while Loctite® RTV silicones cure in 24 hours at room temperature when exposed to atmospheric moisture.
Repairing, Rebuilding & Restoring
