Atkins & Pearce is a 190 year old family owned and operated company that has been supplying fiberglass sleeving to the coated sleeving industry for more than 40 years. Commonly thought to be the largest braider in North America, Atkins & Pearce has over 13,000 braiding machines, as well as extensive other textile processing equipment. The current Atkins & Pearce facility, centrally located in Covington, Kentucky, just across the river from Cincinnati, Ohio, is over 500,000 sq ft, with a new state of the art, climate controlled high bay expansion area that added 50,000 more square ft to our campus.
The sleeving and tubing product lines that Atkins & Pearce is offering through its two brands, Ben-Har™ and Suflex® includes:

Atkins & Pearce Product Families
Atkins & Pearce Acquires Ben-Har™ and Suflex® Brands
Atkins and Pearce announced in the fall of 2007 that it was acquiring the Ben-Har™ brands of coated sleeving and electrical protection products. Earlier this year, Atkins & Pearce also announced that it will acquire the Suflex® brand of products. Both brands of products will eventually be manufactured and sold out of our Covington, KY facility. The transitions will be taking place as follows:
- Ben-Har™ Transition Completed: July 1, 2008
- Suflex® Transition Completed: September 1, 2008
As these dates approach, we will be in frequent communication with EIS sales and purchasing personnel to ensure a smooth transition.
Some Important Transition Details Concerning the Ben-Har™ and Suflex® Product Lines:
- Product Names, Product Numbers, Formulas, Production Processes and Raw Material Vendors WILL NOT CHANGE.
- Atkins & Pearce personnel are trained on making Ben-Har™ products and have been operating the processing equipment at the Federal Mogul plant in Exton for the past six months.
- Pricing, payment terms and lead times for delivery will not change through the transition (we plan to improve lead times, but cannot give a timeline at this point.)
- All UL paperwork filings are in place to ensure that certifications are valid and that each requirement is met by their strict standards.
