The coil on the fields hang over a rectangular steel bar. They did use a rectangular piece of glastic, and they over-sleeved it with acrylic sleeving. Then they brushed an epoxy on it. Glastic was undesirable material to work with and sleeving was unpredictable in its size and ability to stretch over the bar.
