Manufacturer of Power Hand Tools
Product(s) Manufactured
Spiral-wound Tubes available in square, rectangular, round and custom shapes and configurations
Problem/Description
A U.S. manufacturer of power tools needed a thin wall Kraft paper tube, with enhanced dielectric insulating properties, to serve as double insulation between the lamination stack and router motor housing for both Class I and Class II power tools to comply with the latest version of the U.L. standard for these power tools, U.L. 745-1.
Design Requirements
See attached photos that demonstrate how Paramount’s Kraft/EL Mylar tube provides insulation between the lamination stack and router motor housing.
Solution
Paramount Tube’s ability to make spiral-wound tubing in special geometric shapes and sizes, using different tube material combinations, provides for unique, custom engineered, tubular insulation solutions.
Features, Benefits, and Material/Freight/Process/Inventory Cost Savings
For custom electrical insulation applications, the spiral-wound tube process can combine the desirable qualities of different insulation materials into a unique tube structure, with precision adherence to dimensional tolerances. This opportunity represented approximately $30,000 of new business.
